SHAKING WITH ECSTASY AND LOVE

THE BODY'S RESPONSE: SHAKING WITH ECSTASY AND LOVE

Shaking (Kriyas or Spontaneous Movements):
Physiological Explanation: The body shakes due to sudden surges of bioenergy or nervous system overload. In yoga, these are called kriyas—automatic, involuntary movements like tremors, jerks, or full-body vibrations. They result from kundalini energy clearing nadis (energy channels), releasing stored tension or trauma. Neurologically, this mimics the fight-or-flight response but in reverse: adrenaline and endorphins flood the system, causing muscle contractions without fear.

How It Feels: Shaking starts subtly (tingling in spine or limbs) and escalates to rhythmic quivers or convulsions, often in the torso or head. It's not painful but ecstatic, like an internal earthquake of joy. The intensity peaks during the light burst, as energy "erupts" upward, then subsides into stillness.
Duration and Control: Episodes last 5–30 minutes. With practice, one learns to observe without resistance, allowing the shaking to purify the body-mind.
Ecstasy and Transcendental Bliss:

What It Entails: Ecstasy here is an overwhelming wave of pleasure, far beyond physical orgasm—described as "ananda" (bliss) in Sanskrit. It's a full-body sensation of liquid warmth, euphoria, and expansion, where every cell vibrates with joy. This stems from massive endorphin, dopamine, and oxytocin release, amplified by the meditative state.

Connection to the Light: The light burst often triggers or coincides with this bliss, as if the radiance "melts" the body into energy. Practitioners feel weightless, boundaries dissolving, leading to a sense of oneness.

Integration with Love: The love is transcendental—unconditional, divine love (prema or agape)—not romantic but a profound compassion for all existence. It arises from heart chakra (anahata) opening, evoking tears, laughter, or silent awe. Emotionally, it's like reuniting with a lost part of oneself, fostering deep peace post-experience.
